Three days laid out from the 09:30 pickup

Three days and two nights. Pickup at 09:30. Nine named stops. Labuan Bajo again by about midday on the third day. Between the two hours sit the snorkelling the route is built around, the three big walks and a dusk with the bats.

This is the route the open trip sails. Each night is spent aboard, in your own cabin. Destinations change with weather, currents and National Park or port decisions, and the stop order inside a day belongs to the crew and the captain on the day.

Arrive in Labuan Bajo one day before sailing. The harbour on the last morning comes around midday, so book flights after 14:00.

Stops that can swap places on the day: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

The pickup is the one fixed hour. Every other time on this page is a planning guide, and the captain sets the stop order on the day.

Day one: three snorkels, one after another

The first day is three snorkels in a row. Sebayur comes first, a beach island with reef near the shore, in 2 to 10 m of water with a mild current. Lunch follows.

At Manta Point you move with the current along the reef, and nobody holds a fixed position. Rated moderate, with a strong current, it suits confident swimmers; anyone else wears a life jacket. On the open trip the guide swims with the party; on a charter, ask for a guide, or stay aboard here. The crew and guide choose the time to go in, from the tide. Manta Point is on the route; whether mantas are there is the sea's decision.

A snack, then Taka Makassar: a crescent of sand in shallow reef, 1 to 5 m deep, current mild. The sandbar shows only at low tide. The tide can swap Manta Point and Taka Makassar, and the captain makes the call. Dinner is served on board.

Second day: the Padar ridge, the Komodo trail, dusk at Kalong

Day two opens with the Padar walk at sunrise, before breakfast. Sunrise in July is 06:18, and guests step off the boat some 65 minutes before it. The main viewpoint is a 25 to 45 minute climb.

After breakfast comes Pink Beach, also called Long Beach, by snorkel or paddleboard. Lunch. Then the Komodo walk, led by a park ranger, in closed shoes, and the Pimpe Island walk.

A snack, and then Kalong for sunset, which in July is 17:57. Some 15 minutes later the bats stream out of the mangroves. You watch them from the boat. Dinner is on board, and the second night follows.

Day three: Kelor, lunch and the harbour

Breakfast on board, then Kelor, with free time to walk, swim or paddle board. The islet is small and hilly, about an hour from the harbour, and a short steep climb leads to a view over the bay.

Lunch comes before the harbour. The boat reaches Labuan Bajo around midday, and the car takes you to your hotel or the airport. Flights after 14:00 are safe to book; an earlier one is a gamble we advise against.

Bring a bag for wet things. The last morning is short, and nobody wants to pack damp swimwear in a hurry. Rinse in the bathroom before breakfast and leave your bags packed by the cabin door. At the harbour the handover then takes minutes.

As an open-trip seat, or as the whole boat

The same stops sail either way. A seat on the open trip starts at IDR 8,750,000 (≈ USD 537) per person in Java and runs to IDR 12,000,000 (≈ USD 736) in Malacca I, with the local guide in the seat. You share the boat with the other cabins.

Take the whole boat and every cabin and the full deck are yours. The guide and, separately, the photo and video documentation sit outside the fare; both are quoted apart on request. For the head count at which the boat costs less per guest than a seat, the compare page sets out the figures.

Leave the choice for the end of your planning. A date, a head count and a budget settle it in one message.

FAQ

Is a 3-day Komodo liveaboard worth it?

For a snorkeller, yes: it is the shortest length with Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Sebayur on a scheduled first day, and it gives two nights aboard. A two-day trip is a first look. A four-day trip adds a beach dinner and Gili Lawa.

Does a 3-day trip include Manta Point?

Yes, on the first afternoon, between Sebayur and Taka Makassar. Manta Point is on the route, and whether mantas are there is the sea's decision. The crew and guide choose the time to go in, from the tide and the current.

What should I pack for a 3-day liveaboard?

A backpack, sandals or trekking shoes, personal medicines, sunblock and emergency cash. Add sunglasses and a hat. Soft drinks are included, alcohol is yours to bring, and snorkelling gear and life jackets are aboard.

Is a 3-day trip too tiring?

The Padar climb is the hard part, and it comes before breakfast: 25 to 45 minutes of loose, steep path. The rest is floating, sitting and short walks. A guest who wants to skip a climb stays aboard; just tell the crew that morning.

What time is the Padar sunrise stop?

On the second morning, before breakfast. Sunrise in July is 06:18, and guests step off the boat some 65 minutes before. The time moves through the year, so we give you the figure for your month.
