Upper deck and main deck, cabin by cabin

Malacca I and Borneo are on the upper deck. Malacca II and Java are on the main deck. Malacca I and Malacca II are one master cabin each; Borneo and Java are two deluxe cabins each.

Each has a double bed, air conditioning, a sea view and an ensuite bathroom with a hot shower. Only the two Malacca cabins have a balcony. In the photograph of Malacca I a round white jacuzzi tub stands on the balcony platform beside a teak railing, with sea and green hills beyond. Malacca II shows a free-standing oval bathtub under two large windows facing the sea.

The bathroom photographs show marble-look wall tiles, a vessel basin and, in two pictures, a window over the water. Which bathroom belongs to which cabin is on request, and the cabins carry names, not numbers.

Twelve beds, fourteen with the two extra beds

Six cabins with a double bed each make 12 beds. Two extra beds make 14, and 14 is the limit on every trip, on either card. The cabin for each extra bed is confirmed in writing before you pay.

We allocate the cabins. You tell us who sleeps with whom. A party of 2 takes one cabin, a party of 6 takes three, and a party of 12 fills all six. Children count in the bed plan, because a night aboard means every child needs somewhere to sleep.

Adjacent cabins, a chosen deck or a double made up as two singles are requests, not promises. Each one is answered in writing before you pay.

Dining room, lounge and the outdoor deck

On the foredeck a dining table is laid with navy plates, with cushioned benches and a mast beside it. Indoors, the saloon has a long wooden table, a corner sofa with navy cushions, a chandelier and glass doors out to the foredeck.

Elsewhere on board there is an indoor relax area and bar with a comfortable sofa, pillows, a TV, a karaoke set and air conditioning. No photograph of it is published yet. The outdoor relax area has bean bags and mini golf, and the pictures show a curved cushioned sofa on a covered deck and a bean bag beside a round log table.

Sizes, seat counts and shade are on request. Tell us your party size and we confirm the seating in writing.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day, with afternoon coffee or tea and a snack in between. Soft drinks are included. Alcohol is not, and you can bring your own. Dinner on the beach belongs to the 4D3N only.

Safety gear, navigation and the speedboat

Aboard are a 50-person life raft, life buoys, a fire extinguisher and a flare gun. Life jackets are there for the snorkelling. Navigation is by compass, GPS, AIS and EPIRB, with a VHF radio and hand-held radios.

Alongside sits a speedboat, fibreglass, with a Yamaha 40 HP engine. No photograph of it is published, so we describe it by its figures alone. Inspection dates and certificates are on request, confirmed in writing before you pay.

Two figures tell you what the boat does between stops: a cruising speed of 8 to 15 knots, and tanks of 9000 litres of fresh water and 4000 litres of fuel. Those are planning figures, not a timetable. Each passage is the captain's decision, made on the day from the water ahead.

FAQ

How long and how wide is Raffles Cruise?

33 m in length and 6.5 m in beam, with a gross tonnage of 160 and two decks. She was built in 2023 in South Sulawesi. Cruising speed is 8 to 15 knots. Her crew numbers 8.

Is there internet on board?

Local Wi-Fi on board, and a steady connection at sea is not promised. We quote no speed. Tell family where you are before the harbour, and treat the signal as a bonus rather than a plan.

Which safety equipment is aboard?

A 50-person life raft, life buoys, a fire extinguisher and a flare gun, with navigation by compass, GPS, AIS and EPIRB, a VHF radio and hand-held radios. Life jackets and snorkelling gear are part of the fare.

Is the boat air-conditioned?

Yes. Every one of the 6 cabins is air-conditioned, and so is the indoor lounge and bar. Whether the dining saloon is cooled is on request, so we do not claim it.

Where does the boat spend the night?

That is settled by the weather and by the captain on the day. No anchorage is named for any night, here or anywhere else. We can tell you the planned stops for each day, never the berth for the night.
