Raffles Cruise
The lowest price on this boat, and where it comes from
Updated 24 October 2026
A Komodo liveaboard budget starts with the Java cabin on Raffles Cruise: IDR 8,750,000 (≈ USD 537) per person, two sharing, on the 3-day open trip. The whole boat is never cheaper per person than that seat, up to 14 guests.
The lowest seat on the card
Open-trip cabins are sold seat by seat. Java is the lowest at IDR 8,750,000 (≈ USD 537) per person, two sharing, on the 2026 card. Borneo is IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552), Malacca II IDR 11,000,000 (≈ USD 675) and Malacca I IDR 12,000,000 (≈ USD 736).
The seat is for the 3-day route, and for no other length. There is no 2-day open trip. Sailings leave on Monday & Friday.
A cabin needs 2 paying guests, so one person cannot take a cabin alone. The solo page explains what to ask. The table below lists every cabin.
| Cabins | Deck | per person | Extra bed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malacca I | Upper deck | IDR 12,000,000 (≈ USD 736) | IDR 7,000,000 (≈ USD 429) |
| Malacca II | Main deck | IDR 11,000,000 (≈ USD 675) | IDR 7,000,000 (≈ USD 429) |

The head count at which the boat becomes the cheaper fare
Divide the whole-boat fare by your head count and compare it with a seat. On the 2026 card, 3 days for the whole boat at 11 guests comes to IDR 11,360,000 (≈ USD 697) each, which beats a Malacca I seat at IDR 12,000,000 (≈ USD 736). At 12 guests it is IDR 10,420,000 (≈ USD 639), which beats Malacca II at IDR 11,000,000 (≈ USD 675).
It never beats Borneo or Java. Even at the 14-guest maximum, the whole boat costs IDR 9,710,000 (≈ USD 596) each, against IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552) for a Borneo seat. The seat is the cheaper fare at every party size, and the boat is the private one.
The two are not like for like. The open trip shares the boat and includes the local guide. The charter has the boat to your party and leaves the guide and the documentation outside the fare.

What is outside every fare
Park tickets, first. Each ticket is booked online under the visitor's name. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000, while Indonesian citizens pay IDR 50,000 Monday to Friday. Ranger and pier charges come on top.
Flights, the hotel in Labuan Bajo, personal expenses, crew gratuities and travel insurance are outside too. Alcoholic drinks are not included: you can bring your own.
Soft drinks are included, with breakfast, lunch and dinner, and afternoon coffee or tea with a snack. Snorkelling gear and life jackets come with the boat, so there is nothing to buy or rent. That is where the saving sits.
The steward's answer to the question a budget traveller asks next is plain: the fare covers the boat, the food and the gear, and the tickets and the flights are yours.
Which months carry the lower 2027 card
For the whole boat, the 2027 card is IDR 125,000,000 (≈ USD 7,669) for 3 days from March to May and October to December. Prices for the 2-day, 3-day and 4-day routes climb in June to September. January and February 2027 are quoted on request.
Dates from June to September 2027 sit on the higher card; we send you the figure on WhatsApp.
Open-trip seats follow the same pattern. Seat prices for March to May and October to December 2027 start from the cabin prices in the table; June to September carries higher seat prices, confirmed in writing before you pay. The 2026 card stays valid to 31 December 2026.
Spending less without losing the route
Choose Java or Borneo, and sail outside June to September in 2027. Both choices keep the whole 3-day route: three snorkels on day one, the Padar sunrise, Komodo, Pimpe, Kalong and Kelor.
Bring your own alcohol, if you wish, and your own sunblock. Buy the park ticket online in your own name. Arrive in Labuan Bajo one day before sailing, as we advise, so that a late flight costs no seat.
A shorter length costs less on the boat. The full day is the lowest private fare on the card, from IDR 55,000,000 (≈ USD 3,374), and it is a walk and a snorkel in a day, with no cabin and no night aboard. It is not the same trip.
FAQ
What is the cheapest way to sail?
A Java seat on the 3-day open trip, at IDR 8,750,000 (≈ USD 537) per person on the 2026 card with two sharing. A cabin needs 2 paying guests. The seat is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. Park tickets and flights are outside the fare.
Is the low season cheaper?
For the whole boat, yes. The 2027 card is IDR 125,000,000 (≈ USD 7,669) from March to May and October to December, and June to September sits higher. Seat prices follow the same pattern and are confirmed in writing before you pay.
Are park tickets extra?
Yes, always. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000, and an Indonesian citizen IDR 50,000 on a weekday, per visitor. Ranger and pier charges come on top. We register your names in the park's online system.
Can I save by sharing a cabin?
The seat price is per person with two sharing, so sharing is already the fare. A friend in the same cabin halves nothing further. Two friends in separate cabins pay two seats. Ask us how a group of three or four fills the cabins.
Is the open trip cheaper than the charter?
Per person, yes at every party size up to 14 for Borneo and Java. The whole boat beats a Malacca I seat from 11 guests and a Malacca II seat from 12. The open trip shares the boat and includes the guide.
